Paraguayan guaraní

The guaraní is the currency of Paraguay. It became the official currency on October 5, It replaced the peso and now is 1 guaraí is equal to 100 pesos. To the United State's dollar, 126 guaraí is equal to 1 U.s dollar.(1) They have the denominations of 1000, 5000, 10000, 50000, and 100000 Guaranies. (3)The first guaraní notes were the 50 céntimos and they were printed by De La Rue. It was in 1944 when the first coins made out of aluminum and bronze were introduced. (1) They had the values of 1,5,10,25, and 50 centimos. The most recent coins which are being used today were introduced in 1975. They still have the same value as the centimos before but are made of brass plated steel nickel-brass.(1) The guaraní has been very stable compared to the neighboring countries in South Africa. (2)
